“I left the hospital in 2006 for private practice,” he says, “but I’ve remained involved as a part-time consultant, training registrars – something I’m passionate about.”

Special interests
Dr Geldenhuys’ core focus and passion includes rhinoplasty, breast surgery and facial aesthetics, both surgical and non-surgical treatments.

He also regularly attends local and international cosmetic surgery conferences and courses, to stay up to date with global techniques and advances.

Good communication achieves the best result
Dr Geldenhuys believes in aiming for natural results to achieve beauty. “Aesthetically, I like to achieve a harmony and balance,” he says, stressing the importance of proportion.

“In order to achieve a result a patient is happy with, I need to have a thorough understanding of their requirements, which is why informative communication between us is vital.”

He stresses that patient safety takes top priority, which is something he takes great care with. “Predictability in cosmetic surgery is something that a patient values, and I appreciate the need for a predictable outcome.”

Supportive and nurturing
“My personal approach is to be kind, friendly and comforting. As a surgeon I try to be supportive and nurturing, to make the patient’s experience as positive as possible.
